Yiruma nombre artístico de Lee Ru-ma nace el 15 de febrero de 1978, es un compositor de música para piano. Está casado con Son Hye-im (Miss Korea).
Comenzó a aprender a tocar el piano en su casa de Corea a la edad de cinco años. En 1988 se mudó a Inglaterra para estudiar en The purcell School of Music, participando en diciembre de 1996 en el álbum The Musicians of Purcell . Se graduó en julio de 1997 y luego en el Kings College en junio del 2000. Su amor por la música romántica en Francia le llevó a trabajar con compositores en la sombra como Samuel Vallee.
Yiruma es bien conocido en todo el mundo, y sus álbumes se venden en toda Asia, así como en los EE.UU y Europa. Sus piezas más famosas son "Kiss the Rain", "Love Me" y "River Flows in You".
A pesar de que llegó a tener la doble nacionalidad del Reino Unido y Corea del Sur, en julio 2006 renunció a su ciudadanía británica y entró en la Armada de la República de Corea para comenzar su servicio militar, que es obligatorio para todos los surcoreanos.
